Applications are invited from suitable candidates for appointment to the post of

DIRECTOR

in the National Institute of Industrial Engineering, Mumbai in the pay scale of Rs. 80,000/- pm (fixed). The appointment will be made on contract basis for a period of five years. In addition, Dearness and other allowances as per Central Government Rules are admissible.

Rent free furnished residential accommodation (Bungalow) will be provided in the Campus.

The Director is also eligible for medical benefit and Leave Travel Concession as per rules.

2. The Director is to plan, organise and control the activities and development programmes of the institute which has an important role to play in education, research and training aspects of Industrial Engineering and allied Productivity techniques in the country. He is the Chief Executive of the Institute and will be incharge of both academic and administrative functions. The job involves a geat deal of interaction with business, industry, government, universities and funding agencies. The Director is permitted to undertake consultancy work in accordance with the rules of the Institute.

3. Age: Preferably not more than 60 years of age.

4. The Director should be a person with eminent academic credentials in the field of engineering, preferably a Doctorate with at least 10 years experience in the practical application of modern management techniques and methods plus at least 5 years experience in high management positions in well established industries ortechnical educational institutions. The qualifications may be relaxed for exceptional candidates at the discretion of the Selection Committee.

5.
